Mr. Rothman has extensive experience as an IT and Business Operations executive primarily in the health insurance industry. He has held senior executive positions at major insurance carriers including Prudential, New York Life and Aetna. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield which supports customers in Maryland, DC, Delaware and Virginia.
Mr. Rothman has acted as interim CIO at companies requiring short term assistance in stabilizing underperforming IT departments and repositioning such organizations for success. Career highlights include development and deployment of all major claim and administrative systems at Prudential Health, leading the effort to rationalize and integrate the huge array of systems inherited by Aetna through its acquisition of the health insurance business of Prudential and New York Life, providing senior leadership at technology startup deNovis, revamping GHI’s (Group Health Incorporated) IT organization and processes positioning the company for successful merger with HIP and implementation of a comprehensive plan for modernizing internal and external operations and systems at CareFirst BCBS. Mr. Rothman currently provides consultation support for companies seeking help in assessing and improving the effectiveness of their operations and systems.
